After a rather depressing visit round the Docks this evening where the only bird of interest was the wintering Kingfisher on Morpeth, I decided to take the longer route home today via the Inlet where I came across 2 COMMON SCOTER (drakes), at the mouth of the inlet bobbing about. Sadly my camera had died so no images where taken, but hopefully the birds will stick around till the morning.

This is the second record of Common Scoter for the Docks with the previously record being of a single drake on the East Float 2 years ago.
