With news of a Common Pochard over at Bidston, 3rd record for the site, it was a mad dash over to try and get this Patch rarity on the year list for Patch Work Challenge. WAXWING have been invading the North West over the past 2 weeks with over 300 birds scattered about, Wirral its self has been a minor invasion with flocks of 2's or 3's turning up all over. So it was only going to be a matter of time till there was a bird at the Docks and today at 9:50am today that a flock of 4 appeared briefly in a crab apple tree along Watson Drive before being flushed by Cat, were the flock headed east.
For those who weren't birding in the time of the last eruption year (2012/13), Hamilton Square held host a flock of over 150 Waxwings!
