12/01/17

Despite several days of arctic winds coming down up the UK the Docks were once again barren of anything which you would expect with this time of year and weather conditions: Rare Grebes, Divers & Sea Ducks, nothing. On this morning stroll very little was about, 1 Great Cormorant was on the Morpeth Dock whilst the wintering Mute Swans were still present on the Egerton Dock.

Meanwhile over on the East Float 15 Great crested Grebes were present along with Eurasian Curlew (flyover), 2 Great Black-backed Gull, 14 Great Cormorant, 1 Grey Wagtail which was flushed from within the Clock Tower & now a flock of 4 Meadow Pipit over on the Moss just east of the Clock Tower.
